On 20 May we pick up our theme of ‘Exploring 21st Century Quakerism’ with some feedback from Yearly Meeting led by Christine Tollerton.
On 17 June Roger Sturge will lead on ‘A peculiar people? Quaker language’ which will connect well to the following MFL:
On 15 July, ‘A consideration of the revision of Quaker Faith & Practice’ led by Heather Lister.
Useful background to these meetings is ‘God, words and us’ edited by Helen Rowlands, a summary of the thoughts and conversations of Friends who took part in a ‘think tank’ group looking at questions of theology, language and ‘fresh ways of articulating the condition of British Friends in our time’. This is available at £8 from the Quaker bookshop – http://bookshop.quaker.org.uk/God-words-and-us_9781999726928
All are very welcome to these meetings which take place before meeting for worship (10.00 – 10.45) in the library.
If you have any suggestions for a subject for a meeting for learning, or would like to offer to lead one, do get in touch.
