Quaker Youth Development Project

Firstly hello from us, Kirsty Philbrick and Mary Jones, the two new Youth Development workers in the West region!

We have just started in our roles and are excitedly getting to know people and places. We are looking forward to meeting with young people to co-create more opportunities for them in Bristol, North Somerset and West Wiltshire and East Somerset Area Meetings.

This is a continuation of the pilot project that started in Spring 2018. We are inspired by our sister project in Sheffield which has developed a thriving Social Action group.

All 11-18 year olds are welcome to our spring events:

Young Friends Friday

15 March at 7.30-9pm
Redland Meeting House

A chance to meet, socialise, eat pizza and talk about social and environmental issues.

Theatre Trip to ‘Acts of Resistance’

Sunday 7 April at 5.40pm
Bristol Old Vic

We hope this performance will be interesting and poignant – it promises ‘playful and passionate look at what we have inherited and what, for the sake of all our futures, are we willing to leave behind.’ Tickets £8, with free refreshments after.

To book and for more info please get in touch with Kirsty at kirstyp@quaker.org.uk
