Youth Project trip to London to hear Greta Thunberg speak @ Friends House

Greta Thunberg, the catalyst for the global Student Strikes 4 Climate is coming to the UK to speak to parliament, along with other student protestors.

Greta will be speaking at Friends House on Monday 22 April in the afternoon.  We would love to get together a group of Young Friends to go and connect the south west with the global movement.

Logistics:

–          Monday 22 April, approx. 10am – 7pm

–          Meet at Bristol Temple Meads or Bath Spa train station (timings tbc)

–          Take trains to Friends House to hear Greta Thunberg speak.

–          Free lunch at Friends House and a snack on the way home.

–          This news is hot off the press and yet to be made public. Exact timings will be confirmed soon.

FREE! We are fully subsidising this trip.

We have limited places, so please let me know ASAP if you would like to come on this trip, and no later than Sunday 14thApril.
If you haven’t already completed a consent form, please ask your parent/guardian to do so here.

As with previous events, you are welcome to bring a friend. Please let me know if you plan to so we can get in touch with them to sort out consent forms etc.

We realise it is short notice, but hope some of you will be able to make it.

Film club meets (usually at 6pm) in the library at Redland Meeting House every third Saturday of the month. Everyone is welcome to come. Please bring some food for a shared supper after the screening. If you are able to bring about £2 to help pay for the licence, that would be a help, but come anyway! The evening will end by 9pm.

Meeting for Learning – Make Votes Matter @ Redland Meeting House

Exploring how a proportional democracy would help foster peace and social justice.
This session will be led by Klina Jordan from Make Votes Matter (www.makevotesmatter.org.uk) who will outline how Proportional Representation leads to better social, environmental, economic and political outcomes than our current First-Past-The-Post system. We will then explore how this relates to our Quaker values.
