Fourth Annual Bristol Quaker Peace Lecture
Using peace building projects to address violent extremism
Rebecca Crozier
Middle East & North Africa Programme Manager, International Alert
Reception Room, Wills Memorial Building, Queens Road, Bristol BS8 1RJ
Admission free – All welcome
Today we seem confronted by violent extremism in every direction. State responses are predominantly military, or heavily security focused, and public and media discussion largely reflects this. But does this response work?
Rebecca Crozier, who has worked in peace building for ten years, argues that to tackle violent extremism, we need first to understand and address its causes in all their complexity. Her talk will draw on her experience of leading successful projects based on this approach in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Tunisia.
Hosted by University of Bristol Chaired by Ian Beeson of Bristol Quaker Meeting
